Māori health

We are working to address ethnic disparities in cancer survival, as well as the gap in cancer support service provision to meet the needs of Māori whānau. Our work addresses Māori access to cancer care, including prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, palliative care and survival. In addition, we are assessing the challenges in implementing a Māori cancer support whānau programme.

More broadly, we also conduct research on the social determinants of Māori health, including chronic disease, occupational health, and the prevalence, patterns, and impact of the coexistence of more than one chronic disease.
