HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination study

What is this study all about?

The HPV vaccination, which protects against cervical cancer, genital warts and a range of other cancers and conditions, is offered free in schools, and primary care, to Year 8 girls. Since the programme began in 2009, the coverage rate for three doses has remained low at under 60%. This contrasts with other childhood vaccinations which have consent rates closer to 90%.

This study will investigate the who, why and where people are declining the vaccination for their daughters, and also explore attitudes towards male vaccination.
