Towards equitable futures: integrating history, theory and practice

This forum will focus on understanding and tackling health and social inequities. Engaging with contemporary theories of social complexity and the local context, it is intended to provoke dialogue and debate on best practice for investigating and addressing complex social issues.

Funding

The forum is supported with funding from the Centre for Public Health Research, Massey University and the Social Policy, Evaluation and Research committee (SPEaR).

 

 

The four main speakers will be followed by a New Zealand-based panel discussing local experiences of investigation and intervention. The panel will include, Di Grennell, Amokura Family Violence Prevention Strategy, Teresa Wall, Ministry of Health, Gael Surgenor, Ministry of Social Development and Professor Tony Blakely, Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Otago. The session will be facilitated by Professor Don Matheson, CPHR, Massey University.
